Reflection {and a pup}

I think it’s quite nice that if you follow my blog you can truly get an idea of what I’m up to.  Last week for example, you can tell I spent a lot of time dressing up and hanging out with K since there are so many outfit posts.  Then at the beginning of this week, you can tell I’ve been doing a good deal of baking as I’ve shared many recipes.

And now? Well until the weekend K and I are taking care of a handsome and cuddly King Charles Spaniel named Sofus.  Therefore I’ve been going on long walks, becoming a pro dog groomer, hiding food out of reach, and indulging in lots of cuddling.

I feel as though she is red documents my distinct routine living in Copenhagen.  Sure, there are a few unexpected twists, turns and adventures that pop up, but I must say that I love the predictable nature of my routine and habits, and I enjoy sharing a glimpse of them here.

My bike paths throughout the city to work, friend’s homes and favorite hangouts.  My local grocery store, where I sometimes spend what seems like hours roaming the aisles for the perfect ingredients. Living in our little apartment, which has become such a cozy home.  Having visits from K’s father and sweet Sofus.  Welcoming guests over for dinner, desserts, cocktails – whatever I can whip up upon their arrival.  Going out in the city with my fantastic friends, or curling up alone in the windowsill and reading.

I love it all.

I can’t believe that in just over one month, I will board a plane and disrupt my happy routine.  I will start a new chapter in Oregon for one final year of university.  Though of course I look forward to see my dear family and hometown again, I know that I will hold on tightly to my life in Copenhagen.  I cannot let it go, because it is a part of me.  It’s who I’ve become, who I want to be.

Excitingly, I will likely not be alone on my long flight home.  I will travel with a partner in crime, a confidant, a cuddler.

His name is Sofus.

    Looks like a Berner. (Bernese Mt. Dog). Best dogs ever, though they don’t live as long as some other breeds. We’re on our third right now.

      Well, if I read the first part more carefully I’d see that Sofus is a King Charles Spaniel…duh… still looks like a Berner.

        Haha, yes he is a KCS, and a very sweet one at that. He’s about 5 years old now – I hope he has many good years ahead of him! I especially hope that he can handle all the upcoming traveling we’ll be doing – he’s got a passport, health docs, vaccinations and so forth – so he’s almost more prepared to fly than I am! We’ll have to introduce him to your Berner!

        Thanks for reading – and re-reading! 🙂
