A birthday {in food}

August 26th, 2011 § 0 comments

K’s birthday was celebrated with good friends, family and all his favorite foods.

I may have gone a little overboard with the preparations – and boy was everyone full by the end of the day – but we had so much fun!  I wish birthdays could come more than once a year…

Reese’s Pieces welcomed K to the table for brunch

And pancakes boasted his initials (pancake shapes are for grown-ups too!)

In the evening guests were welcomed with Chambord, champagne, and a raspberry

For dinner I made K’s favorite American dish – homemade macaroni and cheese

Which was served alongside lemon-thyme chicken and brocoli

And the evening concluded with a traditional Danish layer cake

All in all it was a practically perfect day in every way – and I think I’m still full!

What are your birthday traditions luvs?  Do they involve lots of yummy food too?
