Sweet as pie

Today is the birthday of my role model, my best friend, my confidant.  She is the most selfless, giving and wonderful person I know, and for the last 230 days she has turned these traits into a beautiful project: A Pie a Day Giveaway.

Petal peep-toes

I’d like to wear these heels to every holiday party this season.

Peep-toe heels with flower – Zara

If you have a suggestion for a go-to dressy heel, I’d love to hear it!  I’m still searching for “the one” – comfortable, high, simple and classic in design, rounded toe…  Have you seen them?  I can’t wait for love at first sight to knock me off my heels feet!

A few close-ups of tangarine and gold-hued details from the weekend:

Orange Satchel – Asos, c/o e-conomic, thank you!

Scalloped lace dress – Nasty Gal

Peridot nail polish – Chanel

Orange lipliner – Prestige, L201 Poppy

This weekend I had a little too much fun in the make-up aisle at the pharmacy, and came home with lots of cool goodies to try out – first and foremost this orange lip color.  I have been reading about orange-red lipsticks and seen some beautiful pictures, but I doubted I could pull it off myself.  I didn’t want to invest much money in my first attempt, so I bought this Prestige lip pencil for less than $4.  My parents both hated the color, but I honestly liked the way it turned out – and it was a fun change from my usual matte Ruby Woo.

Not to mention, it matched my lovely orange satchel.  Never has one bag received so many compliments in one day – I absolutely love it!  A nice contrast to my all-black ensembles of late.

All in all, it was a lovely Saturday!!

Happy Thanksgiving week dears! I’m so excited to share the holidays with you all.

Angora sweater ~ Vintage

Cross wrap skirt ~ Nasty Gal

Gold clutch ~ Zara

Gold necklace ~ H&M

Black zipper ankle boots ~ Topshop

We’re having the most beautiful fall here in Oregon, and I just love it.  Trees filled with beautiful red leaves are scattered all across town, and this one just happened to be next to an aged picket fence – perfectly quaint!

Lately I’ve practically been living in this angora sweater that I stole out of my mom’s closet… even though it leaves a trail of white fluff everywhere I go! Worth it.
