Sparkle Toes

I have to admit that I have recently become quite obsessed with Pinterest.  I love having one place on the internet to go to look through my many boards of {p}inspiration – they make it much easier to stay inspired and start new projects much faster!  Today’s DIY project was inspired by a photo I pinned just a few days ago – and I’m thrilled with the result!

To make a pair of gold-glitter capped shoes, I used a few simple supplies: a pair of old ballet flats from the Gap (which already had black cap toes on them!), gold spray paint, gold glitter nail polish, and loose gold glitter.

I started by taping around the cap toe so I could paint over the black alone.

Then when the gold spray paint dried, I went over it with cheap gold glitter nail polish (Wet and Wild The Gold and the Beautiful). I sprinkled an even layer of loose glitter over that, and then topped it with more nail polish to set.  I continued adding glitter and nail polish until it reached a look I was pleased with.  Then I set them out to dry!

I just love the result!!  I’m planning to keep these sweet flats in my purse during NYFW so that I can make a quick change when my heels get to be too much!

To keep up with my daily doses of inspiration, follow me on Pinterest!  I’d love to see what has caught your eye lately too!
