Eat well, Be well

Lately I’ve been adjusting my eating habits, and focusing my energy on finding healthy foods that I love and want to enjoy over and over again.  {Be gone refined sugars and dairy – I don’t need you!}  Since I only have class in the afternoons, I’ve been making and enjoying a bit of sweetness to go along with my morning coffee each day while I finish up homework, read blogs, and so forth.  It’s been a welcome routine amidst the chaos of my senior year in college.

  1. I love bran cereals, always with non-dairy milk (I alternate between rice, almond and soy) and some fresh fruit.
  2. My mom and I made delicious whole-wheat bread this weekend, and I’ve been enjoying it with chunky peanut butter, bananas and a drizzle of honey.
  3. Dates are the new chocolate.  I love them madly, and they are my new go-to sweetener of choice.
  4. A sweet treat: this milkshake is made with non-dairy milk, dates, cinnamon, nutmeg and ice. Deeeeelicious.

I get most of my inspiration for new healthy treats via Pinterest – you can see some of my favorite recipes here.
