I love how Pinterest has opened my eyes to a whole new world of DIY projects and ideas. And, since my DIY board is in front of me every day, I’m far more likely to complete the projects that I find! For example, I first saw Ali’s DIY of these gold glitter earrings a few days ago, and luckily had everything I needed to already make a pair {or four!} of my own. Here’s what I did:
1. Since I didn’t have gold buttons, I instead raided the hundreds of random buttons that I do have in order to find a few that matched in size and shape. Then I spray painted them gold – first on one side, then the other – and let them dry.

2. Then I took my newly gold buttons and filled their centers with a little bit of gold glitter glue. Since I wanted an extra glittery look, I then used a pair of tweezers to help me dip the wet-glue filled buttons into loose gold glitter. After shaking off any excess, I allowed them to dry.

3. To keep the glitter from flaking off in the future, I then painted the glitter side of the buttons with a thin coat of clear nail polish and allowed them to dry further.

4. Finally I attached earring backs to the back of the glitterized buttons and tah-dah: my very own glitter earrings!

I love the way they turned out, and I’ll definitely show you them again in an upcoming outfit post!
As you can see above, I made four pairs – and it would just be silly of me to keep them all for myself!! Therefore I’m giving away a pair to one of you!! You can choose which size you’d like – S, M or L (as can be seen above), and I’ll mail them to you wherever you are! To enter:
- Follow she is red on Bloglovin, Facebook, or Twitter! Then leave a comment on this post saying which media you follow the blog on {along with your email, so I can contact the winner}. That’s it!
- For additional entries, follow she is red on any combination of Bloglovin, Facebook, Twitter AND Pinterest, and then leave a comment for each additional media you’re following on. (So if you follow on Facebook and Twitter, leave two comments, and so on).
- That means you can enter up to four times – yippee!!
- I will choose a winner at random next Wednesday, March 21!
