Glitter Earrings {DIY and giveaway!}

I love how Pinterest has opened my eyes to a whole new world of DIY projects and ideas.  And, since my DIY board is in front of me every day, I’m far more likely to complete the projects that I find!  For example, I first saw Ali’s DIY of these gold glitter earrings a few days ago, and luckily had everything I needed to already make a pair {or four!} of my own.  Here’s what I did: » Read the rest of this entry «

Gold Collar Tips DIY

March 12th, 2012 § 5 comments § permalink

Honestly WTF is one of my favorite blogs to visit for beautiful, inspiring DIY projects, and their take on how to make your very own metal collar tips did not disappoint.

After a quick trip to the hardware store and a little help from my dad {to cut the metal} I had made gold collar tip pins that can be placed onto all the collared shirts in my closet.

I call that winning!

PS If gold collar tips aren’t your thang, how about making a scalloped collar or your own Miu Miu inspired sneaks.

I can’t believe that an entire year has passed since I pulled myself together, bought a domain name, and started pouring my heart and soul into She is Red.  I wish this day didn’t fall in the middle of the end-of-term craziness that I’m currently working through, so that I could celebrate properly with champagne, a beautiful cake and a pouffy party dress!!  Because this day, while it may be just any other day, feels so very special to me.

I wanted to start a blog for years, but had trouble finding the courage, energy and drive to fully get one off the ground.  What would people think? Would they like what I had to say? Hate what I had to say?  Would I run out of ideas, run out of cute outfits, run out of creativity?  But here we are 82,000 visits, 332 posts, and 634 comments later, and I’m more inspired and excited about She is Red than ever before.  I’ve expanded to Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest, shared adventures from Denmark, Spain, London, and New York Fashion Week, and made lots of new friends.

Thank you for sharing this adventure with me.  Thank you for your support, love and encouragement.  Thank you for helping me follow my dreams and share this part of my life with you. I’m so excited to share new changes, projects, collaborations and adventures with you in the coming months – and I hope you’ll stick with me every step of the way.

Because I truly believe that the best is yet to come.

eBay love

March 9th, 2012 § 3 comments § permalink

I’ve recently become a big fan of eBay – both selling and {occasionally} buying.  The deals are sometimes just too good to pass up!

These are my latest eBay loves…

1. Pink leather clutch, $12.88

2. Chunky metal necklace, $6.99

3. Pearl collar necklace, $23.74

All come with free shipping too! {It may not be fast shipping – but it sure is afforable!}  I am not able to buy anything these days because of a lack of cash, but after some eBay sales I have a nice PayPal balance that was just begging to be used for a new gift or two, just for me.

Have you found any great eBay deals?  If so – please share!  I adore bargains…

{Vegan} Chocolate Glazed Doughnuts

March 8th, 2012 § 5 comments § permalink

Can we talk about doughnuts for a moment?  Because they’re delicious.  But forbidden right? Delicious and forbidden.

Well, not anymore.  Because these doughnuts are delicious – and they don’t have the fat, the excessive sugar, the guilt.  They aren’t forbidden… in fact, I’m encouraging you to make them, and eat at least two, immediately!!
