{Healthy Eats}: Crackers ‘n Dip

April 12th, 2012 § 1 comment

You know those times when you start taking pictures of crackers, and get a little bit too excited and take a zillion?  No? Oh.

Well how about those times when you’ve been on an extra indulgent vacation and want to loosen your pants a little – while still enjoying the food that you eat?  Yes?  I imagine that scenario sounds more likely.

Recently I’ve been focusing on eating foods I love, but in the healthiest forms.  Sweet tooth? Now I enjoy fruit at the end of every meal.  Chips and dip?  How about seed crackers and non-fat garlic dip instead?  Yes please, and thank you!

Nonfat Garlic Cream Cheese Dip

  • 8 oz nonfat cream cheese {I used Philadelphia}
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons chopped garlic {use a blender!}
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Soften cream cheese at room temperature until easy to stir.  Add garlic {should have an almost paste-like consistency} and mix thoroughly.  Add salt and pepper to taste, and store in the refrigerator.  Use anywhere you would use savory cream cheese, or as a dip for crackers, veggies, etc.

Later, I’ve got an even healthier, more decadent recipe for you!  Hint: it involves cookie dough!

Here’s to loose pants loves!
