Home Away From Home

I’m a lucky lady this week, being spoiled like crazy in my Oregon hometown. Mornings are spent getting up early to drink coffee and go hiking with my parents, afternoons are spent lunching with family and friends, and evenings are spent relaxing at home and meeting the new beautiful baby next door.  Today my mom and I bought tickets to three shows at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, so I’m looking forward to lots of theater the rest of the week {starting with The Tempest tomorrow}.

New York Fashion Week {Photo Diary 1}

{An incredible presentation by Rebecca Vallance in the Hudson Hotel}

I just wanted to pop by and say HAAAAAYYY because, let’s be real, it’s been a while!  Here’s a little glimpse into my latest adventure – my 5th season of New York Fashion Week!  I can’t believe it’s been just two years since I showed up in NYC with a suitcase and a dream to see what NYFW was really like.  Now I have the privilege to receive invitations with my name on them twice each year, so I can go watch people change the future of style one outfit at a time. Dreams truly do come true, and I feel lucky and grateful every day! » Read the rest of this entry «

New York City {One Heck of a Year}

I was coming home.

Twenty-Five Candles

A few weeks ago, I passed a big milestone… the big two-five.  It wasn’t the easiest of birthdays to approach honestly – in fact, I think it was the first year of my life that I wasn’t excited for October 1st to roll around.  So many things haven’t gone my way in the past year, and I think I got caught up in the feeling that I hadn’t accomplished enough to be entering my second quarter-century.

But then October 1st came. I spent the day in my new favorite city, surrounded by my New York friends and family who I love more than I can explain. I felt cherished, loved, and happier than I have in a long time. I can’t even express how grateful I am to each and every person who made turning 25 one of the best experiences of my life – each person who completely turned around my little pity party in a matter of moments and reminded me what’s really important.

And guys… can we talk about this cake?!

Bre’s Birthday Bash! {and hello fall!}

September 1st, 2013 § 0 comments § permalink

When my best gal Bre turned 24 last month, she decided to celebrate in a big way. She rented out Social Bar‘s quaint, beautiful rooftop, threw together a DIY photobooth with tons of fun props, and filled bowls with tons of throw-back candy {think AirHeads, Pop Rocks, Ring Pops, Fun Dip}.  So we basically sipped yummy cocktails, got sugar-high, and goofed-off all evening — it. was. AWESOME.  Here’s a glimpse at what went down… » Read the rest of this entry «
