Styling Blue Jeans {for the win!}

March 17th, 2014 § 0 comments § permalink

Happy Monday loves! Just wanted to drop by and say, if you are having a love affair with jeans right now {especially of the sloucy, ripped variety}, you should hurry over and enter your look in Skype’s Boyfriend Jean Styling Contest.

You could win a trip to London and lots of shopping dough so you can buy 10 more pairs of jeans {okay, or other kinds of clothing}! The contest ends this afternoon at 19:00 GMT, so hurrrrrrrry!!! The contest is super easier to enter, and I know you’ve got the chops to win it!

Here’s a first look at my boyfriend jeans outfit – though I think these are more ‘mom jeans’ than anything else. Add red lipstick and white kicks, and you’ve got an outfit though — am I right?! I’ll stop by and show you the whole look later. For now – go enter the Skype contest here and have an AMAZING Monday loves!!!

Blue jeans, white shirt
Walked into the room you know you made my eyes burn
It was like, James Dean, for sure
You’re so fresh to death and sick as ca-cancer

Home Away From Home

I’m a lucky lady this week, being spoiled like crazy in my Oregon hometown. Mornings are spent getting up early to drink coffee and go hiking with my parents, afternoons are spent lunching with family and friends, and evenings are spent relaxing at home and meeting the new beautiful baby next door.  Today my mom and I bought tickets to three shows at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, so I’m looking forward to lots of theater the rest of the week {starting with The Tempest tomorrow}.

New York Fashion Week {Photo Diary 1}

{An incredible presentation by Rebecca Vallance in the Hudson Hotel}

I just wanted to pop by and say HAAAAAYYY because, let’s be real, it’s been a while!  Here’s a little glimpse into my latest adventure – my 5th season of New York Fashion Week!  I can’t believe it’s been just two years since I showed up in NYC with a suitcase and a dream to see what NYFW was really like.  Now I have the privilege to receive invitations with my name on them twice each year, so I can go watch people change the future of style one outfit at a time. Dreams truly do come true, and I feel lucky and grateful every day! » Read the rest of this entry «

Bath Linens {Small Spaces}

January 24th, 2014 § 1 comment § permalink

I recently read a post on A Cup of Jo where Erin Boyle shared her tips for living in a small space {a 240-square-foot studio, to be exact}.  One tip she recommended was to use quick-drying towels in the bathroom, to save space and cut down drying time:

“We’re linen towel converts. Our tiny bathroom doesn’t get much ventilation, but linen towels dry so quickly that there’s no musty smell to contend with.”

In our tiny bathroom, I imagine converting to linen towels could be an absolute godsend – they’d be pretty, useful, and stay fresh/dry for far longer than our current towel collection {which is mismatched and takes at least two full cycles in the dryer to dry out}.  I’m considering these {above} or these for example.

Has anyone out there tried linen towels and loved them? Are they hard to get used to?  Please share any tips you may have, so I can convince Josh this is the right move for us ;)
